A QUICK AND EASY CURRY THAT YOUR FAMILY WILL LOVE!

I have made this so much since i saw this air on one of Rachel Ray's 30 minute cooking shows.  My kids, ages 9-14 love curry as long as it's not too spicy and this isn't.  I don't use the cayenne in the spice blen but leave it on the table to be added to taste.  We use whole wheat pitas and sometimes garlic nan and a basmati rice or whole wheat texmati.  I plate the rice, curry over that and bread warmed in the microwave to the side.  Traditionally the bread is used to pick up the curry rice mixture.  My kids love to stuff the pitas, cut in half, with the curry and rice.  Our stores do not carry garam Masala so we had to order it from the health food store and recently found it downtown in bulk at our local Farmer's Market.  My husband's mother is from India and so we enjoy some spice.  I really enjoy all cultural foods and constantly look for new ideas that are healthy just like the rice/switch to whole wheat and whole wheat pitas.  Here's the link http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/saras-secrets/butter-chickenindian-chicken-in-tomato-cream-sauce-recipe/index.html I also use 2 cans of tomato sauce instead of canned tomatos as my kids don't like the chunks of tomato.

CRAFTS FOR A HOLIDAY MAKEOVER

Hello I wanted to share the wreath idea I made for our front door it's fall and Halloween both at the same time.  I bought a black wreath to begin with from the local Michael's craft store and took some leftover fake fall leaves and using hot glue glued them throughout the wreath.  I also too some berries that were fall colored and had a little glitter on them to add sparkle.  I then added some haylike sprigs9don't know whatthey are called).  The last thing I did was rummage up some fake cob web that I use almost every year and stretched that over the wreath for a ghostly effect.  Let me know what you think you can go to http://www.michael's.com/ for more ideas Have fun!

RECIPES FOR YOUR HEALTH AND VITALITY

I have amazing recipes I have made in the past and just recently that I want to share with working moms, single individuals, dads who love to cook and even children.  My name is Carrie and I am a mother of 4 children ages 9-14.  All of my children are involved with Boy and Girl Scouts, band and sports.  My daughter just recently was able to reach her goal of a 30lb weightloss and now we have back our vivacious girl that was experiencing self doubt and health issues.  My goal as a mom and an Herbalife distributor has been to provide my growing family with healthy ideas of eating and educate them on exactly how easy it is to make good choices on what we put into our bodies.  Does this mean everything we is healthy and non processed?  No, we don't live in a perfect world but maybe some of the techniques I use can be implemented by you or someone you may know.  Well. it's Fall and to tip the season off I got in the mood this weekend to cook a few things I found in a magazine supplement called SEASONS from our local Hyvee.  You can check it out at http://www.hy-vee.com/  it's called WELCOME BACK, FALL!  If you go to the sight and click on Resources you can view the magazine and request your free copy.  the first thing I did was view the recipe to bake a small pumpkin so I could make the pumpkin soup recipe http://www.hy-vee.com/seasons/recipe.aspx?r=5682  .  I went to the local farmer's market and purchased 2, I only used one for this recipe it was perfect. I also made the Prosciutto and Chicken Penne Pasta for the main dish.  This link will give youthe recipe http://www.hy-vee.com/seasons/recipe.aspx?r=6583 .  Here is a picture of how these turned out they are AWESOME and the taste is wonderful all the kids loved these and my daughter packed a lunch today with leftovers of BOTH!
